Description: Madison County Building & Zoning Dept. handles a variety of different issues in hopes to make this Office more user friendly to the public. Madison County currently has countywide Zoning & Building codes. This office monitors the day to day issues for 13 of the 14 townships throughout the unincorporated areas of the County for Zoning & Development & all townships for building issues.

This resolution is enacted for the purpose of promoting public health, safety, morals, comfort, harmony and general welfare; to conserve and protect the natural resources and scenic and historical areas; to encourage the orderly growth and development of the County; to maintain the rural character and aesthetics of the County; to provide for adequate light, air and open space; to secure the most appropriate use of land; to facilitate adequate but economical provision for public improvements, all in accordance with existing County plans or plans which may be later adopted and as permitted by the provisions of Chapter 303, Ohio Revised Code.
